Is Your Home Prepared For Bad Weather

With strong winds and rains just around the corner, is your home prepared for this coastal fall weather?

CHECK YOUR WATER HEATER – By checking your water heater at least twice a year, you can catch a repair early. This is going to limit the cost of the repair by a huge amount. When your water heater is damaged, it uses more energy. This means when the weather turns cold and you are using your heater more, it’s costing you a fortune!

LOOK AT YOUR WINDOWS – Do they have water between the glass? If so, this likely means there is a problem with the seal. When this happens your windows aren’t doing the job of keeping your home insulated. Again, costing you a fortune on your energy bill.

GET A SMART THERMOSTAT CONTROL – A Smart Thermostat allows you to alter the temperature in each room of your home. This gives you more control over what you heat and saves you money by not heating rooms you are not using.

UPDATE YOUR WEATHER STRIPPING – Weather stripping erodes over time and becomes useless, especially against the hard rains.

Of course, it is always a good idea to do a walk through of your entire home. These are just a few great places to start.
