The saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, dreams of escape and adventure only to have them quashed by family obligation and civic duty. His guardian angel descends on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him – by showing him – what the world would have been like had he never been born and that his life has been, after all, a wonderful life. December 2 – 18, 2016 – Scrooged In Astoria. Stylized as a 1960s-style holiday TV special, this show will take you through a magical tale of love, loss and renewal, loosely based on Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but with characters straight out of the ASOC long running summer melodrama Shanghaied in Astoria. This show even has singing commercials written by ChrisLynn Taylor!
Performance dates are Fridays and Saturdays @ 7 pm, December 2-3, 9-11 and 16-17, and there will be two matinees, December 11 & 18th at 2 pm. The house opens 30 minutes before each performance. astorstreetoprycompany.com.
